Dr Belinda Brooks-Gordon is a Reader in Psychology and Social Policy at Birkbeck and was the Liberal Democrat PPC for West Suffolk at the 2010 general election. She has also been a County Councillor in Cambridgeshire for a number of years.
Belinda’s academic work addresses psychological, legal, and social policy questions on gender, rights, sexuality, and the law. She has published extensively on these issues. Her most recent project focuses on the moral responsibility of the state and the role of morality in contemporary social policy.
In her role as a County Councillor Belinda has campaigned on a diverse range of issues including increasing provision of local services and improving road safety and she is a member of the Lib Dem working party for policy on women. In the past Belinda has also contributed to various national newspapers and appeared on national television.
